Use Boomerang To Schedule Send Gmail Messages
I’m a night owl and find I get a lot more done when I work at night. This is especially true when it comes to clearing my email inbox. But I learnt early on that responding to messages outside business hours, tends to give the impression that you are available at all times and sets a level of expectation for reply times that’s not always ideal.
The solution is Boomerang For Gmail. This clever little app allows you to schedule your email to send at any time you want and I use it to schedule my email replies during business hours (it’s also really handy to be able to go back and add or edit your message with things you think of after you push the schedule button rather than having to send multiple emails!).
Improve productivity with Inbox Pause
I’ve just discovered this lovely little feature in Boomerang that allows you to literally pause your email inbox. It’s been fantastic to use when I really need to focus, but still need to be in my emails sourcing info.
You can block off time and there’s an option to set up an auto-responder. Genius!
Other Really Useful Features
- Email reminders: Use Boomerang to take messages out of your inbox until you actually need them. At the time you chose, we’ll bring it back to your inbox, marked unread, starred, or even at the top of your message list.
- Track responses: You can set Boomerang to give you a reminder if you don’t get a reply after a certain amount of days. If the message comes back to your inbox without a response, you can then react by sending another email to follow up.
